Book a 3-night stay at Refuel Irvington.
Put your keys in a lock box when you check-in and commit to only walking or biking to shops and restaurants for your entire visit.
Pick up a sample itinerary to plan out the activities for your stay (you can also keep reading below for some ideas to map out ahead of time).
Enjoy DAYS living car free and exploring this Northern Neck town one step and one pedal at a time!
Complete the challenge, get your keys back and in return we’ll give you a free night to use on your next visit.

Refuel Irvington, built on the site of an old petroleum transfer station, is a six-cottage micro hotel in this Northern Neck coastal town of 450. Irvington has seven eateries and a museum within walking distance. Historic Christ Church & Museum is within easy cycling distance. The Tides Inn, also nearby, hosts fall and winter events, and a Pilates studio can be easily accessed by bike or foot.

Day 1 (typically Friday)

Enjoying wine and snacks on the porch at Refuel Irvington

Arrive and lock up keys.
Enjoy wine, cheese and a baker’s dozen of fresh local oysters waiting in your cottage fridge. Grill them at Refuel’s on site grill.
Walk or bike to dinner at Dredge Restaurant.

Day 2 (typically Saturday)

Objects Gallery in Irvington

Morning

Yoga or Pilates at Blue Honey.
Brunch at The Local.

Afternoon

Walk or bike to the Steamboat Era Museum, explore local shops and the Objects Art gallery.
Bike to Historic Christ Church.

Evening

Take the night out for a more “fancy dinner” at either The Tides Inn or Hope and Glory.
- Don’t want to get all dressed up? Downscale this a bit by having dinner at Fish Hawk at The Tides or The Office Bistro.

Day 3 (typically Sunday)

Coffee in the cottage at Refuel Irvington

Morning

Enjoy coffee and muffins at the cottage.
Play tennis on the Irvington courts (Refuel can lend you the rackets).
Make lunch at your cottage.
Complete the Great Trees of Irvington Challenge. Find these Game Cards in your cottage.

Evening

Dinner at The Vine.

Day 4 (typically Monday)

Christ Church

Get your keys back. Either enjoy the high-speed internet for a workcation and a 5PM check out or tour the Northern Neck to your heart’s desire.
Checkout at 5:30PM.

Take a leisurely walk to town and enjoy breakfast at The Local.
Read, Relax, Refuel.
Prepare a light lunch in your kitchenette at the cottage.

Afternoon

Walk or bike to the Steamboat Era Museum, explore local shops and the Objects Art gallery.

Evening

Take the night out for a more “fancy dinner” at either The Tides Inn or Hope and Glory.
